Cal Cacciaguida, CFP®, is an associate at Sterling Financial Planning, Inc. and one of the newest members of the Sterling Team. He brings to the team extensive knowledge of financial planning and investment management. Having grown up in Sparta, NJ, Cal is happy to be back in his hometown and serving the surrounding local communities.
Working in conjunction with the principals and senior advisors, Cal is an integral part of the financial planning process for new and existing clients at Sterling. With genuine admiration for the financial planning process, Cal helps guide clients on their financial planning journey. He takes an educational-first approach to the planning process and spends the extra time needed for clients to feel confident in their decisions. Developing a picture of the scope of a situation, and the context needed to make a sound decision, is Cal’s goal with every client interaction. Maintaining the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM certification is just one of the ways Cal is able to accomplish this. He also spends time researching and studying topics like behavioral economics and psychology.
A graduate of Ramapo College of New Jersey, Cal obtained his undergraduate degree in Finance and was privileged to be a DIII athlete, playing tennis for his school. Cal is also a member of the Sussex Counter Chamber of Commerce and part of the Young Professionals chapter, where he has spoken on the importance of having a healthy financial mindset and developing a financial plan. Cal is also a member of the Financial Planning Association, a group of advisors that are passionate in driving the financial planning profession forward.
In his free time, Cal is an avid racquet sports (yes, pickleball included) and ultimate frisbee player. He enjoys being active, staying in shape, and spending ample time with his wife, Luisa. Together, they enjoy lazy Sundays after church, cooking, baking, and spending time with family.
